There’s a version of your week where “update the site” stops meaning twenty browser tabs. You tell Claude what you need in plain English, and it happens on your WordPress site. No code, no developer, no copy-paste relay between a chatbot and wp-admin.
That’s what connecting Claude to WordPress gets you, and setting it up takes a few minutes. If you run content or social for a WordPress site, this is a tool that can genuinely save the time it promises.
👉 In this post, we’ll walk through what the connection is, how to set it up without touching code, what to try first, and how to keep it all safe. Let’s get started!
Quick jargon check, one sentence: MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a common language that lets AI assistants talk to other software. On its own, Claude can’t touch your site. With an MCP server running on WordPress, it can read, write, and manage things directly, with your permission.
The plugin that adds that server is Easy MCP AI (easymcpai.com), our own free one (built by ThemeIsle, the family Revive Social belongs to). It’s used on over 10,000 sites and holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 8 ratings as of September 2026. Install it, and your site gets an MCP address that Claude can connect to with one approval click, no tokens or config files needed.
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, then Add New, search for “Easy MCP AI,” and install and activate it. That’s the only install in this whole process. A new Easy MCP AI menu appears in your sidebar.
Open the Easy MCP AI dashboard. Front and center is your site’s MCP address (a URL on your own domain). Copy it. This is the one piece of information Claude needs.

In Claude (the desktop app), add a custom connector and paste the address. Your browser opens a consent screen on your own site. Sign in, tick what Claude is allowed to do (read posts and analytics, write drafts), and approve. First-timers should tick read-only. You can widen it later from the same place.
The proof is one sentence away. Try “list my five most recent drafts.” If the answer comes back with your actual site data, you’re connected. (Traffic questions like “which pages got the most traffic last week?” work too, once analytics are linked in the External Data section.)
Once it works, these are the jobs worth handing over:
Notice the theme: these are the chores that eat the edges of your day. Claude does the clicking; you keep the judgment. If you’re building a broader automation stack around this, our guide to social media marketing automation fits nicely on top, and the social media plugins for WordPress roundup covers the rest of the toolkit.
Worth a mental model before you hand over chores. Through the plugin, Claude gets tools, not magic: it can read and manage posts, pages, media, comments, menus, categories, users, WooCommerce orders, and your SEO metadata across six major SEO plugins. 243 tools in total, if you like counting. It answers from your real data, and it acts only inside the permissions you granted.
What it can’t do is understand your audience, your brand voice, or your quarterly plan. It won’t notice that a campaign is off-brand, and it shouldn’t be the one deciding what goes live. The clean way to think about it: Claude is a very fast, very literal assistant. You are still the editor, the strategist, and the adult in the room.
Three habits make this a calm thing to run instead of a scary one:

It executes, you direct. Claude is brilliant at forty tedious tasks and much less brilliant at knowing which tasks your business actually needs. Strategy stays with you.
The plugin is free and its core features cost nothing. A few optional SEO-research data feeds require paid accounts with those data vendors (one provider’s rating lookup is free), which is their price, not a plugin upsell. And it’s early in its public track record: a perfect score from eight ratings is a great start, not a long one, so test on a staging site or start read-only, as mentioned.
Curious how this fits with auto-posting to social? Our roundup of WordPress plugins for social media auto posting covers the outbound side of the same workflow, and the social media management tools guide handles everything downstream of it.
Connecting Claude to WordPress is a no-code setup that takes a few minutes: one free plugin, one consent screen, and your site becomes something you can manage in plain English. Start read-only, prove the loop with real questions, then hand over the boring work one scope at a time.
